Local Sports For Thursday November 21

The Kathy Jackson rink has slipped to one and 3 at the Dominion Curling Club Championships in Thunder Bay after a 6-3 loss to the Northwest Territories.

The Fort Frances foursome led 3-2 after four ends before giving up four straight points in the next three.

The rink need to win its final two games today against the Yukon and B.C. for any hope of making the playoff round.



Tanner Fricke scored twice and then added the decider in the shootout as the Fort Frances Lakers beat the Minnesota Iron Rangers 6-5 in Hoyt Lakes.

Mason Meyer also scored twice with Patrick Sofer adding the other Laker goal.

The Lakers are back on home ice tomorrow against Wisconsin.



Fort Frances Muskies girls hockey team opens its NorWossa season at home tonight.

The Muskies take on Kenora's Beaver Brae Broncos
