Local Sports For Wednesday November 27

Shelby Tymkin notched a hat track as the Fort Frances Muskies girls hockey team thumped Dryden 7-2.

Amy Penner added two while Jessica Coran and Kaily Greengrass notched singles.

Calie Clendenning faced 23 shots in net for the win.

The girls next head to Sioux Lookout tomorrow for a NorWossa game against the Queen Elizabeth Warriors.



The Fort Frances Lakers got two goals and three assists apiece from Mason Meyer and Lyndon Lipinski to power past Wisconsin 9-5 last night in Spooner.

Lucas Debenedet also tallied twice and set-up two others while Kevin Kurm scored twice and Bryce Lipinski added a single.

The two teams hook up a third straight time Friday at the Ice for Kids Arena.



Fort Frances Lakers forward Mason Meyer has been named SIJHL player of the week.

Meyer had 2 goals and six assists in the Lakers three outings last week.



Former Laker Henry Gutierrez had a goal as Williston State College defeated Dakota College 6-2.



The International Falls Broncos boys basketball team fell 88-24 to Cloquet.

Cody Hallin led the team in scoring with 9 points.
