Local Sports for Friday July 29

Donovan Taylor missed out on making the finals of another swim event at the Canadian Age Group Championships in Montreal.

The 17-year-old from Fort Frances was 28th fastest in qualifying for the 400 individual medley.

He competes in the 200 metres butterfly today.



Pharmasave has won ended the regular season in the Borderland Soccer League's men's division in first.

David Nussbaumer and Jimmy Nussbaumer each scored three times in giving Pharmasave a 9-1 win over the Rendez-Vous Voyageurs.

In the other game, Garnett Cornell scored as Emo blanked Manitou Forest Products 1-nil.

Playoffs will be held next month.



The first-team all-stars blanked the Second-team 7-0 at the Rainy River District Fastball League's all-star game in Barwick.

Big Grassy Braves pitching ace Travis Tom picked up the win on the mound.
