Fort Frances Thunderhawks is one game away from reaching the Allan Cup finals.
The Hawks defeated the host Kenora Thistles 5-3 last night to advance to a semi-final game against the Bentley Generals of Alberta.
A win will give Fort Frances its first appearance in the final since the Canadians 1952 win.
Falls High School boys track team finished first overall at the Bronco Booster Invitational held in the Falls.
Shawn Filipiak and Reggie Gordon each scored a pair of event wins in leading the boys team.
The girls team finished second with the relay teams picking up three first place finishes while Alicia Hendrickson was tops in the pole vault and triple jump.

College softball from Wednesday saw the Rainy River Voyageurs women's team split games with Central Lakes College, losing the opener 11-2 before coming back for an 8-4 win in the second.
Steve Arpin found himself behind the wheel of a new race car this week.
Arpin was one of a number of drivers testing a new Legends Modified Dirt Car.
The cars were developed by former Nascar owner Ray Evernham.
