Fort Frances Lakers fired four third period goals Saturday to rally for a 6-4 win over Duluth at the Ice for Kids Arena.

Jordan Christianson, Jaret Leclair, Adam Wensley, Byron Katapaytuk, Henry Gutierrez, Merritt Rysavy scored for the Lakers who also beat Iron Range 9-2 on Friday..




Fort Frances Nor-Fab Flames Peewee girls team captured silver at a tournament Warroard.

Flames lost to Roseau Green in the final.



In other girls hockey, the Fort Frances notice Timbits defeated Emo Rockets 11-1.

Marti Woods scored six goals for Fort Frances with four goals from Chelsey Degagne and another from Abby Roach.

Janelle Sheppard scored for Emo.



Fort Frances Canadians AA pee-wee team finished fourth at a tournament in Greenway.


Canadians ended the tourney with a 6-4 loss to Minneapolis St Frances Saints.




Fort Frances Canadians Atom AA team won the b-side of a Kenora tournament on the weekend.

The Canadians edged Kenora 3-2 in that final game.

Kaleb Bruyere, Ethan Jourdain and Brett Kenny provided the scoring.





Fort Frances Muskies girls hockey team lost to Kenora's Beaver Brae Broncos Friday 4-2.

Shelby Tymkin and Hailey Clendenning scored for the Muskies.





Fort Frances Aquanaut Donovan Taylor failed to reach the finals at a national swimming event in Toronto on the weekend.

His best finish was in the 50 metre backstroke where he was 30th fastest.




Members of the Border Skating Club earned a number of medals at an event in Winnipeg on the weekend.

Avery Wilson Hands brought home with a gold and two silver while Alina Eldridge medaled in three events taking a gold, silver and bronze.

Jill Bobychinski, with a silver and bronze, was the only other multiple medal winner.
