Local Sports For Monday June 10

Christopher Leek overcame a flat tire early on to capture his first feature race this season at Emo Speedway in the WISSOTA mid-west modified division.

A number of cautions helped get him back into contention.

Gavin Paul in the modified division and Ron Westover in Street Stocks were the other feature winners.



Go-karting in International Falls saw Brian Nelson take wins in both the Master's and Heavy divisions.

Aaron Nelson won in senior class.

Wyatt Boyum won in Junior 2.

Justin Besch took the win Junior 1.

Garrett Froeme won in the Beginner class.



Fort Frances Muskies boys soccer team is back from the all-Ontario provincial championships having gone winless at the tournament.

The teams failed to score a single goal in four games played.



Women's fastball sees the Fort Frances Her-icanes take to the field for the first time.

The Her-icanes face the Lynx.

The other game sees the Sabaskong Cougars playing Red Gut.



Week two of the Borderland Soccer League opens with a pair of games in the men's division.

Pharmasave faces the La Place Rendez Vous Voyageurs under 18 team.

International Travel Services is up against Manitou Forest Products.
