Local Sports For Thursday June 13

The SIJHL may be without American clubs this fall.

Officials in  Duluth and with the Minnesota Iron Rangers blew off a recent USA Hockey meeting, where the SIJHL had hoped to gain certification for the two teams.

The SIJHL is hoping to move the Duluth franchise to Spooner, Wisconsin

USA Hockey is now wanting to schedule a special meeting to address the issue.

The defending champion Minnesota Wilderness won't be back, having joined the North American Hockey League instead.



A pair of shutouts in the men's division of the Borderland Soccer League last night.

International Travel Services blanked Pharmasave 4-nil on goals from Gavin Moorhouse, Marouane Cheblaoui, Ian Friesen and Aaron Kavanaugh.

And the Senior Pharmasave squad shut out the La Place Rendez Vous Voyageurs 6-Nil.

Jeremy Nussbaumer with a pair, Olaf Ruppenstein, Mike Webb, Jason Kabel and Joerg Ruppenstein provided the scoring.

Tristan Hutton earned the shutout.



The second week of the Borderland Soccer League concludes with a pair of games in the women's division.

Al's Racquet Stringing is up against the La Place Rendez Vous Voyageurs.

Boston Pizza plays Taggs Source for Sports.



On the men's fastball schedule tonight sees Big Grassy hosting Stratton.

Rainy River is at Sight and Sound.

Big Island takes on Beef's Warriors.

Couchiching travels to Barwick.

Manitou plays at Dawson.

Sabaskongs' Lakers and Cubs do battle against one another.
