Local Sports For Wednesday June 5

International Falls Broncos boys baseball team is into the final of the Section 7-double A championship.

The Broncos won twice yesterday to reach the final, first beating Proctor 1-nothing in 10 innings then downing Cloquet 7-4 for the fight to face Hermantown in tomorrow's final.



Katie Sinclair scored twice and Taylor Hazel added another as the La Place Rendez Vous Voyageurs defeated Taggs Source for Sports 3-1 to open play in the women's division of the Borderland Soccer League.

Laureen Peters notched two as Boston Pizza beat Al's Racquet Stringing 3-1.



Donald Young School was the overall winner at an intermediate track meet held yesterday for schools in the west end of the Rainy River district.

Sydney Beck of Donald Young and Sekina Scheilber of Strugeon Creek were the top athletes in the Grade 7 division

Janelle Kaemingh of Donald Young and Myron Armstrong of Sturgeon Creek were tops in Grade 8.



The SIJHL has given formal approval to the new Ear Falls/Red Lake team into the league.


It will be play as the English River Miners.



Go-karting in International Falls gets into high gear tomorrow.

Races at Rainy Lake Oil Raceway go tomorrow/today at 7 pm

It's the first race of the season.
