Local Sports For Tuesday June 4

First games are in the books for the Rainy River District Women's Fastball League.

Red Gut defeated the Couchiching Raiders 10-6.

The Lynx outscored the Sabaskong Cougars 26-25.



Men's fastball return to diamond following a series of rain outs last week.

Big Grassy hosts Couchiching.

Big Island travels to Northwest Bay.

Sight and Sound tangles with Manitou.

Stratton entertains the Sabaskong Cubs.

The Sabaskong Lakers host Rainy River.

Beef's Warriors is up against Dawson.




International Falls Broncos boys baseball team look to take another step toward reaching the finals of the Section 7AA championship.

The Broncos face Proctor this afternoon in Hibbing with the winner playing again tonight for the right to advance to final.



Jameson Shortreed scored twice as Manitou Forest Products defeated Pharmasave 4-1 to open the Borderland Soccer League.

Ahamadou Idrissou and Wade Sutton also scored for Manitou while Tim Metke replied for Pharmasave.

In the other game, International Travel Services edged Senior Pharmasave 4-3

Garnet Cornell, Ian Friesen, Ben McBride and Aaron Kavanaugh with goals for the Travelers.

Mike Ohman with two and Mike Webb replied for the Seniors.

The women take to the pitch tonight in their first games of the Borderland Soccer League.
