Local Sports for Wednesday November 24

Fort Frances Muskies hockey team split games played against the Dryden Eagles yesterday.

The boys team blanked the Eagles in Dryden 5-0.

The girls team was edged 3-2 in a game played at the Ice for Kids Arena.

Taylor Dixon and Shelby Rea scored for the home team.



The Raymond Roy rink will open play this morning at the Dominion Curling Championship in Prince Edward Island.

The Fort Frances foursome, representing Northern Ontario, faces a team from New Brunswick at 8 a.m. CST.

Roy is joined on the team by Dave Broman, Butch Wensley and Patrick Briere.



In girls hockey from Monday night, Super 8 team defeated the Lakewood Tire Eagles 3-2.

Tonight, the girls Bantam competitive team faces the Midget Pharmasave Wildcats at the Ice for Kids Arena beginning at 7:15.


Chicago Blackhawks Duncan Keith tops all defencemen in fan voting for the NHL all-star game.

The former Fort France resident's 83-thousand votes is second only to Pittsburgh's Sidney Crosby.
