Sports Update - November 26

Raymond Roy's Fort Frances rink scored a 7-4 win over the Northwest Territories this morning to remain in contention for a playoff spot at the Dominion Curling Club Championship in Prince Edward Island.

The team, representing Northern Ontario, needs a win over the Yukon tonight and some help from other teams to stay in the hunt.




The Rainy River Owls senior girls basketball team has been eliminated from the Division A championship in Welland.

The Owls fell 33-25 to Algonquin this morning.

Kaylee Heyens led the team with 13 points.



The Atikokan Voyageurs senior boys volleyball team picked up a 2-set win over a school from the Durham area at the Division A championship in Mississauga.

Scores were 25-17 and 25-9.

The win gives the Voyageurs a shot at making the consolation playoffs.
