Local Sports for Monday July 4

Men's division play in the Borderland Soccer League from Thursday saw Pharmasave double up Emo 4-2

Manitou Forest Products blanked the Rendez-Vous Voyaguers 1-0.



In Rainy River District Fastball League action from Thursday, it was Beef Warriors 13 Big Island 3.

Rainy River beat Sight and Sound 5-3.

The Big Grassy Braves defeated the Lightning 23-5.

Barwick outscored Stratton 14-5.



Dirty Four Play were this year's winners of the Canada Day four-on-four volleyball tournament played in Fort Frances.

Sassy Senoritas were seconds while Victorious Secret were third.

A total of twenty teams participated.



Fort Frances throwers were the top winners of the mixed horseshoe tournament played on Canada Day.

Stewart Allan took first place honours with Lenard Noonan finishing second and Steve Louman in third.



Grady Anderson was the winner of the Broncos 5K run held in International Falls Saturday.

The 18-year-old finished in just over 16-minutes, two minutes faster than 45-year-old Jack Jessop who placed second.

The top female finisher was Nicole Friend who finished 9th overall.



Stock car racing on Canada Day in Emo saw Gavin Paul of Fort Frances win the feature race in the modified division.

Scott Mesner of Bemidji took the Street Stock class and Chuck Lambert of Fort Frances won the midwest modified feature.
