Falls High School girls swim team beat Mesabi East in head-to-head competition.

The team won seven of 12 events with Sarah Todd, Breanna Shofner and Kari Arnold each winning twice.

Abby Kostiuk had the other win in the 100 yard backstroke.




Action for the Fort Frances Muskies today see the senior boys volleyball team in tournament play in Kenora.

The football team is in Winnipeg to play Daniel McIntrye.

In International Falls, the Broncos football team is visiting Cloquet tonight.




SIJHL kicks off its season in three locations tonight.

Fort Frances Lakers don't play until next Wednesday.

Teams will be playing under some new rules, adopted from the NHL.

It includes minor penalties for for shooting the puck over the glass.

The league is also instituting a zero tolerance to hits to the head and contact from behind.
