Local Sports For Friday April 19

Kenora Thistles have advanced to the semi-finals of the Allan Cup, beating Fort St. John 8-2.

Tom Biondich of International Falls had one of the goals for Kenora who face the host Bentley Generals tonight.



It's a pivotal game four in the SIJHL final tonight at the Ice For Kids Arena.

Fort Frances Lakers trail the Minnesota Wilderness 2-games to one.

The home team has won every game so far.



"Dig This" is this years champions in the Fort Frances Women's Volleyball league.

They beat Scared Hitless in 3 straight games for the title.

This weekend, several local teams will compete in the annual Struchan Gilson Memorial Volleyball tournament at Fort Frances High School.

A total of 15 teams are taking part, including some from Saskatchewan, Sioux Lookout and Thunder Bay.



Poor weather is forcing a delay to the start of the Fort Frances Youth Soccer season.

It's being moved a week to May 6, ending June 27.

A wind up will still be held June 15.

Meantime the Association is still seeking coaches to coach teams in Division 2 and four.
