Local Sports For Thursday May 30

Fort Frances High School will be represented at all-Ontario championships on two fronts.

The boys soccer team will compete for a provincial title after winning its third consecutive NorWossa crown in Dryden yesterday, beating Kenora's Beaver Brae 2-1.

Cam Gobeil and Tyler Ruppenstein scoring for the Black and Gold who now prepare for a trip to Stratford next week.



Some members of the Fort Frances High School track team will head to the provincial championships in Oshawa next week.

Jenny Hammond qualified in the 800 metres during the NWOSSA championships in Thunder Bay.

Arthur Van Ahel earned a berth in the 3000 metres.



Fort France Muskies girls soccer team not as fortunate.

They bowed to Dryden 2-1 in the NorWossa semi-final.

International Falls Broncos boys baseball team has reached the next round of the Section 7AA championship with a pair of wins yesterday.

Broncos opened the tournament in Ely with a 5-1 win over Greenway before shutting out Proctor 1-0.

They now face Cloquet in Hermantown today.

Big Grassy Brave thumped Manitou 17-0.

Couchiching blanked the Sabaskong Lakers 5-0.

Big Island out scored Dawson 12-9.

Stratton edged Barwick 4-3.
