Local Sports For Wednesday May 1

Minnesota Wilderness dropped their first game at the Dudley-Hewitt Cup tournament, losing 4-1 to the host North Bay Trappers.

The Wilderness face Sault Ste, Marie today.



Rainy River Voyageurs pitching ace Oashaja Dobie is a co-winner of the MCAC pitcher of the week award in the northern division.

Dobie allowed just one run while striking out 10 in the Voyageurs sweep of Itasca on the weekend.

Dobie leads the lead in era at 1.41 and strikeouts at 113.



The Voyageurs men's baseball team plays today in Brainard with a pair of game against Central Lakes slated for this morning.



Playing in just its second game of the season, the International Falls Broncos girls softball team lost 10-0 to Cherry.

Broncos are scheduled to play Littlefork-Big Falls Friday.



The Borderland Soccer League holds the first of two registration nights tonight at the Memorial Sports Centre from 6 to 8.

Cost to play is one-hundred dollars and players must be 13 or older.
