Local Sports for Friday September 24

Fort Frances Muskies court team split games played against Dryden to open the NORWOSSA season.

The senior girls basketball team beat the Eagles 33-19 while the junior boys volleyball team earned a four-set win.

The junior girls basketball squad fell 20-16 while the senior boys volleyball team lost in four-sets.

Today, the senior boys head to Kenora for a weekend tournament.



Falls High School swim teams earned a split in head-to-head competition with Mesabi East.

The varsity team won was its fourth straight, with Morgan Bruess leading the way with two victories of her own.

Relay teams picked up four wins.

The junior varsity squad was edged in points by their opponents with its relay teams earning three victories.



On the grid iron, the Fort Frances Muskies have their homecoming game today against Daniel Mac.

Game time is 3 p.m.

The International Falls Broncos are in Cloquet.



Fort Frances Lakers play their only road game of the month tonight in Spooner against the expansion Wisconsin Wilderness.

It's the first of a two-game home-and-home series with both teams at the Ice for Kids tomorrow.
