Local Sports for Monday May 3

Fort Frances Muskies boys' soccer team won the consolation final at a pre-season tournament in Winnipeg over the weekend.

Colton Spicer was named to the tournament all-star team.

The Muskies open their NORWOSSA season Wednesday at home.



A Fort Frances teen was a selection in this weekend's OHL draft.

Jon Carlson was an eighth round pick of the Ottawa 67's.

Carlson played for the Thunder Bay AAA minor Midget Kings this past season.



Rainy River Community College women's softball team went 3-and-oh at a tournament in Grand Rapids Saturday.

The Voyageur's defeated Northland 10-0 in five innings, Anoka-Ramsey 12-0 in six and Mesabi East 9-2.


International Falls Broncos boys baseball team split games Saturday, beating Hibbing 7-2 before dropping an 8-4 decision to Hermantown.

The boys golf team tied for second at a tournament in Coleraine with Glenn Walls shooting a two-day round of 144 for a share of the individual lead.
