Fort Frances Boston Pizza Royals AA peewee team took the D-side consolation of the Paul Bunyan International Hockey tournament in Bemidji over the weekend.

The Royals defeated Virginia 4-3 for their only win of the three day event.




The annual Battle of the Border between the Fort Frances Muskies and International Falls Broncos boys hockey teams gets underway tonight.

The game is being played at Bronco Arena

Elsewhere on the high school sports front, the Broncos girls basketball team hosts Babbit-Embarass.

The Broncos boys swim team is in Eveleth-Gilbert.

In Atikokan, the Voyageurs court teams host Red Lake.

The Rainy River Voyageurs men's basketball team is in Cloquet to play Fond Du Lac.
