Local Sports for Monday July 16

Rick Simpson of Thunder Bay beat out 12 other Super Stock drivers who gathered at Emo Speedway Saturday for the feature win.

It was the Super Stocks first visit in six years to Emo.

Other feature winners were Gavin Paull in the modified division, Paul Veert of Winnipeg in the Midwest Modified division and Tylar Wilson in the Street Stocks.




A large number of drivers out for the Borderland Kart Club's races on Friday in Emo.

Tanner Williamson won the feature in the advanced classes.

A.J. Kellar swept the races in the novice division.




Ninjas are apparently no match for Pirates - on wheels at least.

The Pirates plundered the Ninjas 138-93 in a roller derby game hosted by the Borderland Roller Derby at the Memorial Sports Centre Saturday.

Teams were made up of skaters from Winnipeg, Duluth, Kenora as well as the host club.




Women's soccer tonight in the Borderland Soccer League.
