Local Sports For Wednesday June 20


Jameson Shortreed record his league high sixth shut out win in the Borderland Soccer League as the Manitou Forest Products blanked Pharmasave 2-0 in men's play.

Jon Sinclair and Ahamadou Idrissou with his 18th of the season provided the scoring.

In the other game, the La Place RendezVous Voyageurs tied International Travel Services 2-2.

In the Rainy River District Fastball League, Barwick edged the Sabaskong Lakers 4-3.

Couchiching upset Rainy River 11-7

Stratton defeated the Sabaskong Cubs 7-3

And Big Island lost to Northwest Bay 10-4.

A game between Manitou and Big Grassy was postponed while there's no report from the Sight and Sound-Beef's Warriors game.




All-star honours for two members of the International Falls Broncos boys baseball team.

Gunnar Anderson and Christian Kittelson were named to the All-Section 7-double A team.




Expect to see Steve Arpin back in a modified race car later this year.

The Fort Frances native says a deal will see him compete at Minnesota modified national in July at Viking Speedway in Alexandria.

He'll also run in the Dakota Classic tour that runs at tracks in North Dakota and Saskatchewan.
