Local Sports for Thursday July 19


Laureen Peters scored four times and Colleen Hogan added two other as Boston Pizza defeated the La Place Rendez-Voyageurs 7-1 in the Borderland Soccer League's women division.

Boston remains unbeaten in 15 games this season.

In the other game Taggs Source for Sports and Al's Racquet Stringing played to a 2-2 draw.

Courtney Roach and Michelle Veldhuisen scored for Taggs.

First round of the double-knockout format will go next Tuesday night.

Big Island, Barwick, Beef's Warriors and Rainy River, the first four seeds, get a bye and will play the first round winners a week from today.

A champions could be decided as early as August 16th.
