A three goal performance from Laureen Peters pushed her Boston Pizza team to a 6-1 win over Taggs Source for Sports in the Borderland Soccer League last night.

It's Boston's 11th straight win in the women's divisions.

Sara Kellar struck four times as Al's Racquet Stringing defeated the La Place RendezVous Voyageurs 7-3.




Rainy River District Fastball League holds its all-star game tonight in Rainy River.

The leagues best 26 players have been divided into two squads known as Team McKinnon and Team Gemmell.




The Sandy Beavers outlasted fourteen teams to win the 4-on-4 beach volleyball tournament held during the Canada Day in Fort Frances.

The team, consisting of Meghan Bourgeois, Adrian Chapman, Anthony Roberts, Allison Hyatt and
Amy Wilson-Hands, defeated the Dragons for the title in three sets.




46-year-old Jake Jessop was the overall winner of the Broncos 5-K run held yesterday in International Falls.

He crossed the line in  just under 19 minutes.

Course records were also set in three women's age groups by 17-year-old Victoria Alexander, 53-year-old Peg Westrom and 70-year-old Judy Neurohr

A total of 219 runners took park, the largest number in the event's six years.
