Local Sports For Tuesday January 29

Todd McFadden of Minnesota set a new record in finishing the bicycle competition of the Arrowhead 135 in 14 hours and 20 minutes.

He beat out Jeff Oatley of Alaska by just 30 seconds.

The event, which kicked off yesterday out of International Falls, ends in Tower.

The running and skiing portions of the competitions continue.



The Muskies High School hockey teams hit the ice tonight.

The girls team is hosting the International Falls Broncos girls  - 7 p.m. at the Memorial Sports Centre.

The boys team travels to Kenora to face the Thomas Aquinas Saints.

It's the boys first game in almost two months.



A busy schedule for Falls High School sports teams.

The Broncos boys hockey team hosts North Shore - 6 p.m. at Bronco Arena.

The boys basketball team is in Virginia.

The girls basketball team is home to Deer River - 7:15 p.m. at Falls High.



Jeremy Johnson of the Minnesota Wilderness has been named SIJHL player of the week.

Fort Frances Laker forward Jordan Christianson Pizza was selected an honourable mention.



The Rainy River Voyageurs women's volleyball team is getting its squad for next year together.

Kerista Johnson, from Baudette, Tali Plate, of Deer River and Jordan Vezina, from Bigfork, have all committed to playing for the Voyageurs.
