Local Sports For Thursday January 31

A three-goal second period paced the Fort Frances Lakers to a 4-2 win over the Dryden Ice Dogs last night in Dryden.

Brendan Cawston with the game winner, Tyler Brodersen, Alex Bruess and Jacob Nolan providing the Lakers goals.

Talor Joseph, who was recently acquired, stopped 35 shots for his second consecutive win.



Syndey Radigon netted a hat trick as Fit Lifestyles & Conditioning defeated Leon's Fort Frances 5-3 in a Borderland Women's Indoor League game.

Kim Cousineau scored twice in a losing cause for Leon's.

Elsewhere, Edith Jenkinson scored four times and Tanya Hughes added two others as Boston Pizza won for the fifth straight time, beating Wright Physiotherapy 7-2.

Jessica Caul scored twice to pace Peters' Plumbing & Heating to a 4-2 win over Cater 2 U.



In College basketball, Rainy River Voyageurs men's basketball team lost to Fond Du Lac 68-62.



Fort Frances Muskies boys hockey team plays on home ice tonight for the first time in almost two months.

They host the Sioux Lookout Warriors - 7:15 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena.



At Fall High School, the Broncos boys hockey team hosts Hibbing - 7:30 p.m. at Bronco Arena

The girls team is in Eveleth-Gilbert.

The boys basketball team is in Warroad.
