Local Sports For Wednesday January 30

Fort Frances Muskies hockey teams on the ice last night.

The boys team dropped a 5-3 decision to the Thomas Aquinas Saints in Kenora.

The girls team played International Falls losing 4-0.



Lucas Debenedet scored twice as the International Falls Broncos boys hockey team blanked North Shore 6-0.

The Broncos boys basketball team won its sixth straight game beating Virginia 65-62.

The girls team defeated Deer River 64-31.



Fort Frances Canadians Midget AA boys hockey team defeated the International Falls Broncos junior varsity squad 5-1 in a game played at Bronco Arena last night.

The Canadians are in tournament play this weekend in Duluth.



The first runner and skier in the Arrowhead 135 have crossed the finish line.

Parker Rios of Wisconsin finished the run from International Falls to Tower shortly after 4:30 a.m. this morning, completing the course in just less than 46 hours.

Mark Scott of Wisconsin was first to cross the finish on skies, doing so last night, almost 39 hours after leaving the Falls Monday.



On the local schedule tonight, the Fort Frances Lakers travel to Dryden for a game in the SIJHL.

Rainy River Voyageurs basketball teams are in Cloquet to play Fond Du Lac.




The Borderland Women's Indoor Soccer League resumes its schedule tonight after taking a week off.

Boston Pizza leads the standings with 33 points.

Jessica Caul of Peter's Plumbing and Heat holds down the scoring lead with 26 goals this season.
