Local Sports for Friday March 4

Two Atikokan High School students finished out of the medals at the all-Ontario high school Nordic ski championships in Ottawa.

Erik Larson was 37th out of 160 skiers in the junior boys 5-k event.

Kiara Gannon placed 81st out of 150 participants in the junior girls event.



Game one of the NORWOSSA boys hockey finals begins tonight at the Ice for Kids Arena.

The Fort Frances Muskies are up against Kenora's Beaver Brae Broncos.

The Broncos won three of four meetings during the regular season with one win in overtime and another in a shoot out.

Game time is 7:15 p.m.



The SIJHL playoffs begin for the Fort Frances Lakers tonight in Wisconsin.

The two teams are playing two two-game total-goal series with the winner getting the first right to pick their semi-final round opponent.
