Four players reached double digits in scoring as the International Falls Broncos boys basketball team defeated Two Harbours 75-47 to open the Section 7AA championship playoffs.

Shawn Filipiak led the way with 15 points.

The Broncos will now face Deer River in a quarter-final game in Duluth Saturday.



The Rainy River Owls have ended their appearance at the all-Ontario high school senior girls A volleyball championship in Belleville.

The Owls finished last in their pool, losing all four games played at the tournament.



The Fort Frances Lakers and Wisconsin Wilderness begin the second leg of a total goal series tonight at the Ice for Kids Arena.

The teams split games last weekend in Spooner, but the Wilderness outscored the Lakers 6-3 to take the opening round.

Game time is 7:30 p.m.



The Rainy River Voyageurs men's baseball team is back on the field in Florida.

They'll play a doubleheader with Hibbing.
