Local Sports for Wednesday March 23

Fort Frances Lakers have got themselves back in their SIJHL semi-final series with the Dryden Ice Dogs.

The Lakers stole a 3-2 win in Dryden last night.

All of the scoring came in the first period with Cody Hasbargen, Henry Gutierrez and Byron Katapaytuk notching goals.

Game four goes Thursday in Dryden with the Dogs leading the series 2-1.




Fort Frances Muskies are back on the ice this morning at the all-Ontario high school boys hockey championship in Toronto.

They face Toronto area school St. Thomas of Villanova at 7 a.m.

The Muskies lost their opener yesterday 7-4 to Mount Carmel of Mississauga

The all-Ontario high school curling championships begin in Thunder Bay today with Isaac Keefer leading the Fort Frances High School boys team.

Keefer opens play this afternoon against a rink from the southwestern Ontario community of Ridgetown.
