The Fort Frances High School Swim team has its first-ever OFSSA gold medal.

16-year-old Donovan Taylor earned the medal yesterday with a first-place finish in the 200 metre individual medley at the all-Ontario high school swimming championships in Etobicoke.

His time of 2:06.08 was also a qualifying National time.

Taylor also won a silver medal Tuesday.



Rainy River Owls senior girls volleyball team is preparing for a trip to the all-Ontario high school championship next week.

The Owls captured the NWOSSAA A title last week in a two set sweep of Nipigon-Red Rock.

The OFSSA's begin Monday in Belleville.

The Owls also won the NORWOSSA A junior girls volleyball title last week in Kenora.
