Rainy River Voyageurs women's volleyball team was defeated in its home opener by Northland Community College in three sets, 25-9, 26-24 and 25-20

The Voyageurs were led by Katrina Wreggitt of Fort Frances with 7 kills.

The ladies travel to Cloquet Saturday to take on the Thunder from Fond du Lac.
