Local Sports for Tuesday September 13

Fort Frances Lakes have ended their pre-season in the SIJHL with a perfect record.

Bryon Katapaytuk, Colton Spicer and Henry Gutierrez each scored twice as the Lakers upended the Wisconsin Wilderness 8-5.

The Lakers won all four of their exhibition games played and will open the regular season Friday at home against Thunder Bay.



Falls High School boys and girls cross country run teams finished second overall at a meet in Warroad.

Sydney Raboin led the varsity girls team with a 6th place finish while Marco Griffiths was tops for the boys in 14th.

The boys junior team also placed second in its division with 3 runners in the top ten, including Eric Mathews who was 3rd.
