Local Sports For Thursday December 13

Poor road conditions in the Dryden area forced a cancellation of the SIJHL game between the Fort Frances Lakers and the Dryden Ice Dogs last night at the Ice for Kids Arena.

The two teams are scheduled to play in Dryden tonight.

The cancelled game will be rescheduled to a later day.



Only one game in the Borderland Women's Indoor Soccer League got played last night.

Boston Pizza defeated Peters' Plumbing & Heating 5-3.

Laureen Peters and Tanya Hughes each notched a pair of goals for B.P.

Jessica Caul had all three for Peter's.

The two other games were forfeits with Fit Lifestyles and Conditioning getting the win over Leon's Fort Frances.

Cater 2 U given the win over Wright Physiotherapy.



Week 13 of the Fort Frances Women's Volleyball League sees a tie at the top of the standings.

Gillon's Insurance Cougars caught Notorious D.I.G. for top spot following play last week.

Scared Hitless, Bump it Up and Just Play round out the top five, but have narrowed their gap from the front runners.

Meantime, games tonight and next week have shifted back to Robert Moore School because of a conflicts at St. Michael's.
