Local Sports For Monday December 31

International Falls Broncos boys hockey team ended the Hockeytown Holiday Classic in Warroad with a 3-3 overtime tie against the hometown club.

Jack Mellstrom,  Lucas Debenedet and Kyler Schneider scoring for the Falls.

The Broncos ended the tournament with a win and two ties.



The Broncos girls hockey team lost to Northern Lakes 3-2 in overtime in the final of the Schwan Cup tournament in Blaine.

Fort Frances Canadians AA pee-wee team went winless at the Paul Bunyan tournament in Bemidji on the weekend.

The Canadians opened the tournament with a 4-0 loss to Cloquet and a 6-1 loss to St. Cloud on Friday.

Nick Hahkala in the loss to Cloquet and Spencer Murphy in the St. Cloud game named players of the game.

Saturday the Canadians lost 6-3 to Fargo with Jake Clendenning named player of the game.

In the d-side playoffs, the Canadians lost to Crookston 3-2 with Ian Tookenay selected player of the game,
before ending the tournament with a 2-1 loss to Keneewaw in the d-side consolation final.
