Local Sports for Monday June 20

Area runners competed in two separate marathon runs on the weekend.

In Winnipeg, Lorne Rickard was 41st in the Manitoba Marathon, finishing first in his age category

In the half-marathon, Daryl Gannon of Atikokan placed 45th which was good for a second place finish in his age category.

Several other runners from Atikokan, Fort Frances and Emo also participated.




At the Gramma's Marathon in Duluth, Kerry Zub of Fort Frances was the lone runner from the district in the full marathon.

Cameron Moorehouse and Selena Morris of Fort Frances participated in the half-marathon.

All three completed their races, but were well back of the leaders.





Racing at Emo Speedway was rained out.

They're try again next Saturday.



The Borderland Soccer League resumes its women's schedule tonight at the Struchan Gilson Soccer Pitches.

First-place Boston Pizza is up against Taggs Source for Sports.

Al's Raquet Stringing faces the Rendez-Vous Voyageurs under 18 girls team.
