Local Sports for Wednesday June 1

Just one game in the Rainy River District Fastball League got completed last night.

A home run by Vaughn Wilson helped the Barwick Knights to a 3-1 win over the Big Grassy Braves.

Four other games were postponed due to weather.



An easy win for Pharmasave in the men's division of Borderland Soccer League last night.

It was granted a win by default over Emo.

A game between the Rendezvous Voyageurs and Manitou Forest Products was rescheduled due to the fact that many of the Voyageurs players were making the trip to Windsor with the Fort Frances Muskies to the provincial high school championships.



Don't rule out Thunder Bay as being a possible future home of an AHL Franchise.

City Manager Tim Commisso says he spoke to Manitoba Moose owner and True North's Mark Chipman about three weeks ago who seemed very interested in the Lakehead.

The city is looking at a new arena to replace the aged Fort William Gardens.



Women are back on the Struchan Gilson soccer pitches in the Borderland Soccer League tonight.

Boston Pizza faces the Rendez-Vous Voyageurs under 18-team.

International Falls Broncos boys baseball team begins play in the Section 7AA championship tournament today.

The Broncos host Greenway at Scheela Field beginning at 4:30 p.m.
