Local Sports for Tuesday June 14

Boston Pizza extended its win streak to five game in the Borderland Soccer League women's division with a 3-1 win over the Rendez-Vous Voyageurs under 18-team.

Laureen Peters paced Boston with a pair of goals.

And Al's Racquet Stringing got goals from five different players in edging Taggs Source for Sports 5-4.

Sara Roach had a pair of goals in a losing cause for Taggs.



In Little League ball in the Falls, Meyer's Sports defeated Northern Lumber 13-4.

Moose Lodge beat Fort Frances Kiwanis 16-5.

In girls softball, TruStar blanked Border State Bank 12-nothing.

Mannco Trucking and Coca Cola tied 8-8.




Dan Gavel earned a pair of wins in the second leg of racing for members of the Superior Dirt Riders.

Gavel took the ATV Pro and Open classes in events held in Kakabeka Falls on the weekend.

Motocross racing returns to Atikokan this weekend.



A NHL executive says don't rule out an AHL team for Thunder Bay in the future.
