Local Sports for Wednesday June 22

Mitch Cain recorded his second consecutive three-goal game in helping the Manitou Forest Products blanked the Rendez-Vous Voyageurs 6-0 in a men's game of the Borderland Soccer League.

Tanner Kaemingh was credited with the shutout.

Elsewhere, Jimmy and Dave Nussbaumer each scored twice as Pharmasave beat out Emo 5-3.

Meantime, both women's games scheduled for tonight have been postponed and will be played at a later date.



In the Rainy River District Fastball League, the League leading Beef's Warriors edged the Big Grassy Braves 6-5.

Four other scheduled games were postponed.



At the Ontario District 1-A Senior Games being played in Fort Frances, the team of Renee and Frank Dumeney of Fort Frances captured gold in cribbage.

Sally Rowat and Janice Eger of Dryden won in Euchre.

The games continues today.

Tournament play is underway in the International Falls Little League

In the boys major A division, Northern Lumber edged Wherleys 15-14 while Meyers Sports won by default over Energy Fitness Centre.

In girls Major B softball, Mannco Trucking blanked Coca-Cola 10-0.

And in regular season play in boys major B, Dominos won by default over the Fort Frances Kiwanis.
