Local Sports for Monday October 17


Fort Frances Muskies spoiled Dryden's first-ever night game by winning 21-17 Friday.

Colton Craig scored three touchdowns in the Muskies win.




International Falls Broncos football team improved to 2 and 4 with a 28-6 win over Hibbing Friday.

Fort Frances Canadians AA atom team lost 9-5 to Dryden in an exhibition game Saturday.

Cooper Witherspoon with a pair, Kaleb Bruyere, Reed Bodnar and Ethan Carlson-Jourdian scored for the Canadians.




Girls hockey on the weekend saw the Fort Frances Leafs bantam team shutout Saturday by Duluth Marshall Prep Hilltoppers 4-0.

In a peewee division game Saturday, Lakewood Tire Eagles beat Kaemingh Esso 3-1.

Maighyn DeGagne, Kelsey Langtry and Annalise Hayes with goals for the Eagles.

Emma Noga had the lone marker for Esso.




Falls High School girls swim team finished 5th at the True Team Iron Range Championships Saturday.

Morgan Bruess picked up the team's only individual win in the backstroke.



Rainy River Voyageurs women's volleyball team qualified for the MCAC's Regional tournament after beating Mesabi in 5-sets Friday.
