Local Sports for Wednesday October 12

Jaret Leclair had the game-winning goal and assisted on two others to help lead the Fort Frances Lakers past the visiting Iron Range Ironheads 7-4 at the Memorial Sports Centre.

Jordan Larson with a pair, Henry Gutierrez, Connor Hady, Adam Wensley and Dane Morin also scored for the Lakers who travel to Sioux Lookout tonight..

At Falls High School, the Broncos girls volleyball team was swept in three sets by Greenway - 9-25, 15-25 and 19-25.

The Rainy River Owls are playing host to Sioux Lookout's Queen Elizabeth School.

Elementary students across the Rainy River district will gather in Atikokan for a second cross country run in as many weeks.

The Rainy River Voyageurs women's volleyball team is in Hibbing.




A junior soccer tournament scheduled for today at St. Francis School in Fort Frances has been cancelled because of the threat of rain today.

There are no plans to have it rescheduled.
