Curling Update

Tirza Keffer and her Fort Frances team have advanced to the playoffs of the provincial high school girls curling championship in Toronto.

Keffer's rink defeated a team from an Oshawa school 7-2 this morning to finish second in their pool.

They're now playing Timiskiming in the quarter-finals.


Lorne Jackson's Fort Frances rink has earned their first win at the Northern Ontario mixed curling playdown in Kenora, beating Robbie Gordon of Sudbury 8-4.

Jackson faces the Kevin Brown rink of Kenora this afternoon.
