Local Sports for Tuesday March 16

The schedule has been set for next week's Ontario high school boys hockey championship in St. Catherines.

The Fort Frances Muskies are ranked eleventh and placed in a division that includes schools from St. Catherines, Woodstock, Caledon and North Bay.

They will open play next Tuesday against St. Catherines.



Playoff dates for the Fort Frances Lakers semi-final series with the Dryden Ice Dogs have been released.

The best-of-seven series will open tomorrow in Dryden.

Games 3 and 4 will be played Saturday and Monday at the Ice for Kids Arena with the Lakers hosting a game 6, if necessary, on March 26.



Hockey Northwestern Ontario says it will ice a team at the 2010 Under-16 provincial hockey tournament scheduled for this August in southern Ontario.

The team is to be selected at a camp in Thunder Bay next month.

The selection of coaching staff is currently underway.
