Local Sports for Wednesday March 24


Fort Frances Muskies dropped their first game at the provincial high school hockey championship in St. Catherines, 6-1 to number 2 ranked Denis Morris from the host city.
Chris Cousineau score the Muskies lone goal late in the third period.
Wes Brown was in net for the loss with the Muskies outshot 35-26.

Fort Frances plays St. Mary's of Woodstock this morning, but may be without defencemen Jamie Kaun and Dustin Brown who both suffered leg injuries in yesterday's game.





Fort Frances Lakers will look to take a series lead in game five of their SIJHL semi-finals with the Dryden Ice Dogs in Dryden tonight.
The series is deadlocked 2-2 with a game six schedule for this Friday at the Ice for Kids Arena.
Fort Frances High School girls' curling team opens play at the provincial high school curling championship in Toronto against a team from Toronto this afternoon.

Skip Tierza Keffer says its a thrill for her team.
Keffer is joined by third Samatha Mueller, second Taylor Hartlin and lead Carley Busch and are coached by Dave Bondett.
