Fort Frances Minor Hockey Association is looking to host next spring's branch hockey championships.

The AAA playdowns determine Hockey Northwestern Ontario's representatives at provincial events in the pee-wee, bantam and midget levels.

Hockey Northwest is to decide where to hold the event at its annual meeting in Thunder Bay this weekend.



Steve Arpin will start on the fourth row in tonight's ARCA series race at Michigan International Speedway.

Arpin was seventh fastest in yesterday's qualifying.

The race will be broadcast on Speed-TV beginning at 5 p.m.



For the second straight day, rain washed out scheduled games in the Rainy River District Fastball league.

The weather also prevented a lone game in the men's division of the Borderland Soccer League from going ahead.
