Local Sports for Monday June 28

Ron Westover is moving closer to a milestone in his racing career.

Westover was the street stock feature winner Saturday night at Emo Speedway, leaving him one win shy of the one-hundred mark.

He's won four of five features this season.

In other action it was Brady Caul taking the win in the Midwest Modified division with Brad Loveday claiming the Modified feature.



Former Fort Frances Muskies Joe Basaraba was a 3rd round pick of the Florida Panthers in the NHL draft held Saturday in Los Angeles.

Basaraba, who played for Shattucks-St. Mary's this past season, is expected to suit up for the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs this coming year.



Teams in the Borderland Soccer League resumes their second half schedule tonight.

Manitou Forest Products, leaders of the men's division takes on Pharmasave while Taggs Source for Sports meets Boston Pizza on the women's side.
