Local Sports for Tuesday May 31

The Rendez-Vous Voyageurs and Boston Pizza have opened the Borderland Soccer League season with the first wins in the women's division.

Cassandra Moffit scored twice as the Voyageurs won 3-1 over Al's Raquet Stringing.

Allison Brown and Laureen Peters each scored twice while Amy Wilson-Hands recorded a shutout as Boston Pizza blanked Taggs Source for Sports 5-nil.

The men's division opens play tonight.



Members of the Superior Dirt Riders held their opening race of the season in Atikokan on the weekend.

Winners included Earl Reimer in Pro Moto-Cross, Elwyn Adrain in the Veteran's class, Brady Love in junior moto-cross and Dan Gavel in the ATV Pro Class.
