Local Sports For Monday June 4


Christopher Leek captured his first win of the season at Emo Speedway Saturday.

Leek took checkers in the midwest modified division.

Gavin Paull won his third straight in the modified division while Tyler Wilson claimed his second in the Street Stocks.



On the go-kart track in Emo, A.J. Kellar won a heat and the feature in the Novice division.

Tanner Williamson accomplished the same feat in the Advanced class.



Steve Arpin was 12th at Elko Speedway Saturday.

It was Arpin's first ARCA series race in more than a year.



Falls High School girls track team finished second at the Section 7AA meet in Duluth while the boys were 11th.

Breana Shofner captured wins in the 100 Meter and 200 meter events.



Fort Frances bowler Jeff Watts was eliminated in the first game of the Stepladder round of the Canadian Open 5 pin bowling championships in Gatineau.

Watts reached the playoff round following a 4th place showing in the preliminaries



Fort Frances strongman Luke Skaarup finished second at a event in Toronto in a bid to qualify for the national championship.

He's get another chance to qualify next month in Kitchner.




Boston Pizza looks for its third straight win as teams in the Borderland Soccer League's women's division play tonight.

Boston faces La Place RendezVous Voyageurs who play just for the second time.

Taggs Sources for Sports plays Al's Racquet Stringing in the other match.
