Local Sports for Tuesday June 12


Boston Pizza has run its unbeaten streak in the women's division of the Borderland Soccer League with an 8-1 thumping of Taggs Source for Sports.

Colleen Hogan and Adrienne Smith each with hattricks for Boston in the Game.

In the other match, Al's Racquet Stringing tied the La Place RendezVous Voyageurs 3-3.



Manitou Forest Products looks to keep its unblemished record in the men's division in tact tonight with a game against the La Place RendezVous Voyageurs.

Manitou has yet to be scored against in six games.

Hall of Fame honours for former Fort Frances resident Duncan Keith.

Keith and the rest of 2010 Canadian gold-winning Olympic hockey team are being inducted into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame.

The team beat the U.S. for gold in Vancouver on Sidney Crosby's overtime goal.

Dryden's Chris Pronger, Kenora's Mike Richards and Thunder Bay's Eric Staal also part of that squad.




Fastball action tonight sees the Big Grassy Braves going for its 9th straight win as they travel to Couchiching.

Elsewhere, Rainy River hosts the Sabaskong Lakers.

Manitou is at Big Island.

Sight and Sound travels to Sabaskong to play the Cubs.
