Local Sports for Tuesday June 5


The Big Grassy Braves take their 6-game unbeaten streak into Rainy River tonight.

The Braves are the only unbeaten team in the Rainy River District Fastball League while the Royal hold down second spot.

Elsewhere, the Sabaksong Cubs are in Barwick.

Stratton is at Sabaskong to play the Lakers.

Northwest Bay play at Couchiching.

Manitou hosts Sight and Sound.

And Beef's Warriors are in Big Island.




A pair of shutouts in the Borderland Soccer League last night.

Laureen Peters notched a hat trick as Boston Pizza shut out the La Place Rendez-Vous Voyageurs 4-0.

Amy Wilson-Hands scored her second shut out of the year.

Taggs Source for Sports got goals from five woman in a 5-0 shut out of Al's Racquet Stringing.





Manitou Forest Products looks to keep its perfect record in place as they take on International Travel Services in the Borderland Soccer League's men's division tonight.

Manitou has not allowed a goal in four wins.
