Local Sports for Thursday May 10


Fort Frances Muskies boys soccer team has opened up the NORWOSSA season with a pair of wins.

Muskies opened with a 1-0 win over Dryden, then edged Kenora's Beaver Brae 3-2.

The girls team got shut out on the scoresheet, tying Dryden 0-0 before being blanked by Beaver Brae 3-0.




NASCAR driver and local resident Steve Arpin makes a return home today.

He'll making a special guest apparent at Boston Pizza in Fort Frances this evening.

He next races in the Nationwide Series next week in Iowa.




Rainy River Voyageurs girls softball team takes to the field this morning for the start of the NJCAA Region 13-B Championship tournament.

Voyageurs face top ranked Itasca in their opening game in Grand Rapids.




Rainy River District Fastball League is set to begin its season.

The league's 12 teams will open play May 15.

Playoffs will begin at the end of July.




Another chance to sign up for the Borderland Soccer Association.

Registration takes place at the Fort Frances High School from 6 to 8 tonight.

The regular season kicks off May 22.



International Falls Broncos girls softball team hosts Warroad.
